poems for a funeral service

When I lost my mother there was no way on earth that I could have written a shopping list never mind poems for funeral tributes. They just keep it for themselves as part of their memories with the dead person.

While such responses are fairly common, there's really no cause for worry. Perhaps you're not accustomed to public speaking, and the mere thought of speaking in front of a crowd makes you nervous. If you were very close to the person who died and you are expected to stand up in church or at the graveside to recite a poem, make sure that you have a supporter.

Adequate preparation must be made to gather biographical facts about the person you will be talking about. The truth is that death is a doorway into a new home, an entrance to new way of living life with God and you. It is, in fact, acceptable to include humorous moments in a eulogy.

Giving a eulogy is an honor. If you are gifted with the blessing and talent of writing poetry for the dead, share it.
