local funeral homes

Our society is one that has long incorporated ceremony into important events. Even reading funeral poems for someone close can be a very hard and traumatic experience, although this is one thing that I'm glad I did.

You are grieving and emotionally drained that you may have a difficult time preparing for this last homage. While some families choose to have a viewing followed by a service at the funeral home, others will hold a funeral at a house of worship. Burial customs vary enormously depending on culture.

If your voice starts to crack, take a deep breath and read slower. Using poetry to help with grief, to express love or pain and to memorialize a friend or family member is very powerful and will be appreciated by others who have experienced a loss. A poem you write for someone you know of might just bring the same reassuring message to other families who suffer through death.

It is a chance to help others begin the transition to a life after the person's passing. Don't worry if it runs just a bit longer, take a deep breath and try to relax.
